Cooling Time Calculation in Plastic Parts
This tool can be used to calculate the cooling time in plastic parts with basic geometries, such as sheets, cylinders and spheres, hollows or solids, in order to determine cycle times for injection molding process.
The temperature profile across the thickness can be calculated, and therefore, hot spots can be identified.

Calculation of the optimal number of mold cavities
 This tool allows to identify the optimal number of cavities that can be molded, knowing the equipment specifications. It also gives an economic estimation of the number of cavities that minimizes the production cost.
The comparison of results using different injection molding machines is possible.

Heat Exchange Calculation in Injection Molding
This tool gives guidance for the design of a cooling system in an injection mold. The evaluation of the overall performance of a cooling channel system, taking into account the characteristics of the parts, machine and the conditions of the refrigerant and surroundings, can be performed.

Calculation of Mold and Plastic Part Tolerances

This tool evaluates tolerances for plastic parts and their respective mold cavities. Different tolerance ranges with respect to the expected shrinkage in the part are considered.
The tolerance determination is based on DIN 16749 for injection mold parts and DIN 16901 for plastic parts.

Injection Molding Cycle Parameters Calculation
This tool allows to determine the screw stroke (dosage, volumetric filling, and gravimetric filling), times of the stages of the injection molding cycle and the recommended temperature profiles.
These results are obtained from the required process parameters, the material properties and the geometry of the polymeric part to be molded. In that way, this tool supports the machine parameters setting-up .

Tolerances and fits in injection molds

This tool is intended to calculate metal parts tolerances used in commercial injection molds in order to obtain a suitable fit in the assembly.
The tool is based on ISO 7150 and DIN 286-14 and 7152 standards.
